How to Make a Chocolate Bouquet

You have decided that you’d like to produce your own chocolate bouquets to give as a treat and are wanting to understand the steps to follow. This is a great place to be in as you know what you want to do, now is it only a matter to understand how to create your bouquet, this is where I come in.

  • Firstly you have to decide upon is precisely what kind of bouquet you would like to make and what you will make the edible flowers from. Bouquets come in the form of topiary bushes, single posies or made up with you favourite candy bar.
  • Next clear a good work area so that you can not have distractions and a jumble to deal with, it is better to be structured to begin with, it should hopefully reflect in your completed bouquet.
  • Gather all the items you require, this could include the following
  1. A base for the chocolate bouquet, for this bloom I am using a nice square display box that is 10cm x 10cm
  2. The chocolates you will use, generally is a assortment of candy bars or top quality separate chocolates like Lindt balls or Baci chocolates, I am selecting Ferrero Rocher chocolates in my bouquet in addition to a handful of separately covered chocolate in gold and silver foil.
  3. Florist foam or polystyrene which is to be used to fit into the presentation container, it really is extremely unlikely you’ll find something of the actual size you need so get a piece somewhat bigger than needed and cut it down to size.
  4. Square pieces of multi-colored, plain or printed tissue paper that is to be used to produce the flower petals and add more colour on your bouquet. Decide on tones here which go with the event your bouquet is actually for.
  5. Thin skewers, or toothpicks which will create the stem for the chocolate blooms, one end shall be put into the florist foam and the other into the chocolate.
  6. Florist tape – I like to use green florist tape to cover the skewers making it appear much more life like.
  7. Ribbon to wrap around the demonstration carton as the final touch
  8. Cellotape and/or glue
  • Now that you have each of the components necessary on your table, shape the florist foam right down to size and put inside the presentation container, it needs to fit tightly in place but not reach the top for the box, 2cm from the top of the presentation box is very good.
  • We want to now create the flowers, once you’ve this finished correctly once, it’s really a matter of reproducing for all the additional remaining chocolate flowers you want to make. The steps are as follow:
  1. Insert the skewer inside the base of the Ferrero Rocher chocolate
  2. Choose a bit of the tissue paper and push it around the end of the skewer that’s not supporting the chocolate, this will pierce through the center of the tissue paper.
  3. Now the tissue paper is in position, move it up to the top of the skewer (where the chocolate is) and twist it about the chocolate, such as making a petal surrounding the chocolate. Once in the ideal position, cover transparent cellotape around the base of the tissue paper.
  4. Repeat this procedure for each and every of the chocolate flowers you intend to create
  • Once all the choc blooms are made push all of them in to the foam which is within the presentation carton, a great way to present this is to press the chocolate blooms down deeper in to the base at the front and then leave them much higher set at the rear, alternatively one other way to organize the blooms is to make the highest flower in the middle with all of the additional flowers somewhat lower up until you arrive at the edge of the box. Alter this till you obtain the concept which best shows what you’re wishing your chocolate bouquet to look like.
  • Once all of the blooms are positioned in the bouquet fill any sort of room between the blooms with some more of your tissue paper
  • Once you’re satisfied with the way your bouquet looks, place a ribbon wrapped around the presentation box which will make your bouquet look finished
  • One final touch should be to write a gift card for the intended receiver and place between the blooms you have tenderly made.

The journey now has only just started, when you’ve designed one chocolate bouquet you’ll want to create lots more, playing with various boxes, such as vases (filled with gummis or jelly beans for an added treat), different chocolates and other colors and themes, there really isn’t any limit as to the you are able to make once you have the confidence to accomplish this.
